Our Programs

Wishing Well Acres Foundation creates affordable opportunities for children, families, and community members to connect with agriculture, animals, nature, and one another. Our programs combine hands-on learning with welcoming experiences that encourage curiosity, compassion, and a greater sense of community.

Wishing Well Acres is growing one project at a time. Some programs are currently available by appointment or on selected event dates, while others are being developed as facilities, funding, volunteers, and partnerships become available.

Agricultural and Animal Education

Our agricultural education program introduces visitors to farm animals, responsible animal care, and everyday life on a developing West Texas farm. Guests may have opportunities to observe and learn about ponies, a donkey, a goat, pigs, chickens, ducks, ostriches, bees, and other animals living at Wishing Well Acres.

Educational topics may include:

  • Basic animal care and feeding

  • Differences among animal species

  • The roles animals play on farms

  • Safe and respectful interaction with animals

  • Where food and agricultural products come from

  • The importance of responsible stewardship

Educational visits are offered by appointment and during selected community events as staffing and animal conditions allow.

Animal-Assisted Learning

Animals can encourage curiosity, patience, empathy, confidence, and meaningful conversation. Wishing Well Acres is developing supervised animal-assisted learning activities that allow children and adults to engage with animals in a calm, respectful environment.

These educational and recreational experiences are not medical treatment or therapy. Activities are adapted to the needs of the participants and the health, comfort, and safety of the animals.

Family and Community Gatherings

Wishing Well Acres provides a welcoming outdoor setting where families and neighbors can slow down, spend time together, and build lasting memories.

Community activities may include:

  • Campfire and bonfire evenings

  • Outdoor meals and Cowboy Stew gatherings

  • Family movie nights

  • Seasonal celebrations

  • Farm-animal visits

  • Games and outdoor activities

  • Reading and nature days

  • Community fellowship events

Some events are offered without a required admission fee. Donations and sponsorships help cover expenses and make future community programming possible.

Community Meals and Charitable Outreach

Wishing Well Acres Foundation believes that food can bring people together. We are developing community meals for individuals and families who may be experiencing loneliness, financial hardship, or limited access to traditional celebrations.

Our planned outreach includes Thanksgiving dinner, sponsored family experiences, and other community meals that offer more than food. Our goal is to create a warm place where every guest feels welcomed, valued, and included.

Donors, sponsors, volunteers, businesses, churches, and civic organizations are invited to help us expand these efforts.

Nature and Environmental Stewardship

Our developing nature programs will help visitors learn about the land, plants, pollinators, water, and responsible use of natural resources in the West Texas environment.

Future activities may include:

  • Pollinator and honeybee education

  • Gardening and orchard demonstrations

  • Wildflower and native-plant learning

  • Water-conservation education

  • Seasonal planting activities

  • Farm and nature observation

  • Environmental cleanup and improvement projects

These programs will grow as gardens, shade areas, walking spaces, and other farm improvements are completed.

Youth and Family Enrichment

We are developing creative and educational activities that help children experience the farm in different ways. Planned resources include Wishing Well Acres coloring and activity books, animal facts, dot-to-dot pages, farm-themed creative projects, reading activities, and supervised hands-on learning.

Our purpose is to make learning enjoyable, memorable, and accessible to children with a variety of interests and learning styles.

Volunteer and Community Service

Volunteers are essential to the growth of Wishing Well Acres. Individuals, families, students, businesses, churches, and community organizations may assist with:

  • Preparing for community events

  • Serving meals

  • Farm cleanup and beautification

  • Gardening and planting

  • Educational activities

  • Donation and supply drives

  • Administrative and fundraising projects

  • Construction and improvement projects appropriate to their skills

Volunteer opportunities depend on current projects, supervision, age requirements, weather, and safety considerations.

Sponsored Access

Our long-term goal is to ensure that cost does not prevent families from participating in meaningful farm experiences. Donations and sponsorships may help provide community meals, educational visits, activity materials, animal care, and special events at reduced or no cost to qualifying participants.

Sponsors may support an individual program, a community event, an animal, a farm improvement, or the general mission of Wishing Well Acres Foundation.
